Mrs. Bimala Singh was born in Samastipur, Bihar in the year 1954. She is a Managing Trustee of Lt. Amit Singh Memorial Foundation. The Foundation was established by her in the memory of her beloved son Lt. Amit Singh, who sacrificed for the Nation in Operation “Rakshak” on 3rd September, 2000. Lt. Amit Singh supreme sacrifice for our nation has become the inspiration for Mrs. Bimala Singh and she is working day and night for the upliftment of our society specially the farmers and the soldiers, who are the backbone and pillars of our country. The foundation is committed to fostering the patriotism among youth and rural people through economic development, education, health care and ethic and values.
The foundation have been organizing various National and International conferences, besides Kisan Gosthi, capacity building and training programmes for farmers, distribution of seeds and planting material and promoting the talent among the students through various activities and also recognizing and encouraging the talented ones by felicitating with awards. The foundation is also recognizing the services of scientists, industry, and academia and farmers by felicitating with various awards. The foundation has also been awarded for its excellence and outstanding contribution. Mrs. Bimala Singh as Managing Trustee of the foundation and also the social worker was also recognized as ‘Woman of the year’ and her profile was published in one of the leading magazines along with ten known women activist in the year. She has published many reports and has widely travelled in India and abroad, for attending many national and international conferences. Currently, she was invited in the International Conference held at Istanbul to highlight the activities of foundation. She is also actively engaged in the welfare of Army, and was recently, facilitated on Kargil dewas.
She is following the concept of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” and has belief that this will justify the sacrifice of her beloved son who sacrificed his life for our happiness and our motherland. The foundation is open to all to work together with the goal of “ Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Amit ”.
